Updated Kraken
Still working away towards Grad... Here's an update of the Kraken. Textures are done and I rigged him quickly so I could pose him cradling his ships.

Just a quick update!
Finished importing all my meshes and textures from Maya to UDK. I'm in the middle of setting up the scene with my meshes. I've added a few lights but will finalize and post soon!

Graduation Progress
Here's an updated shot of the scenes that will be in my grad reel.
Viewing Order:
1. NYC Subway
2. Church Scene (Low Poly)
3. Kraken
-NYC Subway Scene: I overhauled almost all the UV's on each mesh. I added in additional edges to areas where the lines were too sharp. I created tile-able textures for the walls and floors, added grime maps under objects. I still need to add in an overall grunge (scuffs on the floor) map for the floor. I have a few ambient trash objects that I will populate in the scene. I plan to light this in UDK.

-Low Poly Church Scene (Pardon the checkered texture, I'm in the process of unwrapping the meshes before I sculpt them in Z-brush). Ideally I will add in some grass, dirt, and populate the graves when they are finished. I will create my turntable and lighting in Marmoset.

-Kraken: I've updated my Kraken and Kraken scene with a more accurate Humboldt Squid. I have two ships that I need to break up a bit in the scene. The squid is still in a neutral position. I need to rig it so I can control the arms and have it wrap around the hull of the larger ship and smaller ship. The fishes and rocks still need sculpting and I still need to add in more coral.

Summer QTR Update
I've been a busy bee; diving further in to Maya and learning more about working with Z-Brush and Mudbox as an integrated pipeline for my process. Overall I'm happy with the work I produced this quarter. Here's a couple of shots of individual work and collaborative work from this quarter's accomplishments!
First up was an underwater scene of a Kraken (really a hybrid Humboldt Squid...)

Next is a Ode to Coney Island: (I was think Survival Horror for this scene)

My final update of the quarter is a piece where I was the texture artist for a collaborative character.

Credits:
Jessica Siu (Texture Artist)
Joanna Kiech (Character Model first pass)
Stephanie Barns (Character Model - final pass and UV Layouts)
There's a few more characters that I textured, I'll update with more shots at a later date!

"Tiki Shop"
I recently tried my hands at creating a fictitious store for an art test. I had a lot of fun creating this so I thought I'd share this as a post!

I used Illustrator to create 100% of this image. The test required "vector cartoon art that had bold outlines, moderate-high saturation and flat shapes" for a target market of 16 - 35 yr. women and the theme was focused around a "Hawaiian, tropical island, or Tiki" theme.
Let me know what you think! I'm always open to feedback (^__^)
